Enrichment Programs for Children within Victoria
The Learning Enrichment Studio Malvern provides a range of highly engaging and beneficial services and programs to ensure your child is getting the most out of their time with us. We conduct these programs throughout the school term and into holidays and are focused on nurturing their capabilities in a constructive learning environment. Below is some information on the current enrichment programs we provide:
Scratch – Ages 8 To 12 YEARS
Create stories, games, or animations and share your creations with others in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.
Secret Agent Society – Ages 8 To 12 Years
Is it hard to make friends? Do you know how to manage a bully? Enroll in a SAS course or become a secret agent. Improve your social skills and have fun while you do it by using an interactive computer game with espionage themed games.
Promoting the Development of Thinking Skills
The Learning Enrichment Studio is dedicated to promoting the development of your child’s thinking skills by providing them with a range of educational activities to undertake. Each activity is structured according the age of the student and their capabilities, which are assessed during the initial consultation. The goal is to engage your child intellectually and challenge them to perform to a consistently high standard.
We have holiday programs for younger and older students designed to enhance learning capabilities and enjoyment of learning over the school break.
Next program September 2018
We are able to carry out testing to determine your child’s educational capacity in comparison with peers. These assessments cover topics such as:
- Mathematics reasoning
- Numerical operations
- Written expression
- Listening Comprehension
Full report determining your child’s cognitive ability or academic development is issued on completion.
We offer comprehensive individual tuition for those that are twice exceptional (gifted and learning difficulty). This tuition incorporates a range of strategies designed to assist in learning, organisation and study skills.
Individual Research Projects
The Studio is able to foster your child’s special interests or passion by providing them with a project to complete. We will act as a mentor and help with the research and collation of all material throughout.
We help children develop their creative thinking skills by educating them on thought process methods. This program promotes the practical application of problem solving strategies for children to utilise for the rest of their lives.
Design and build a robot using the Lego Mindstorms Robotics kit and learn the basics of programming. This is an exciting course for children as it combines aspects of creativity and problem solving in a fun environment.
